Orange wine icon from Friuli's natural wine pioneers. Radikon family has owned vineyard land in Oslavia since 1861. Saša Radikon took over in 2016 after his father Stanko's death; the "S" wines are Saša's personal project launched in 2010. "Sivi" means grey in Slovenian, referencing Pinot Grigio's greyish-pink skins. 18+ hectares on Eocene marls near the Slovenian border. 10-14 days skin contact, natural yeasts in oak vats, no temperature control. 18 months in 3,500-liter Slavonian oak. Unfined, unfiltered, minimal sulfur. Organic and biodynamic practices.

Using forgotten winemaking techniques and extended skin contact on white grapes, he created orange wines that still taste revelatory. Sivi starts with organic Pinot Grigio bunches harvested by hand and destemmed. The berries are fermented with natural yeasts in oak vats with no sulfur or temperature control and a 10-14-day maceration The wine is aged in 3500-liter botti for a year and bottled without filtration and with a little sulfur. The name "Sivi" means "gray" in Slovenian, a reference to the natural grayish-pink color of Pinot Grigio skin.
