Victoria Torres Pecis is the fifth-generation steward of her family's bodega in Fuencaliente, on the volcanic island of La Palma, where she farms ungrafted old vines on black picon soil with a minimalist hand. Las Migas is her Listan Blanco bottling, drawn from tiny plots scattered across southern La Palma at various altitudes, picked over a harvest that can stretch nearly three months. The result is a transparent, saline white that telegraphs the volcano: lean, mineral and alive rather than fruity. The 2023 is fresh and energetic, made in tiny quantities. One of the most distinctive whites coming out of Spain right now.
