More about Widow Jane

Widow Jane is Brooklyn bourbon with a quarry in its story: every batch is cut to proof with limestone water from the old Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, about 100 miles north of the city, whose stone helped build the Brooklyn Bridge.

Daniel Preston, a former aerospace engineer, founded the distillery in Red Hook in 2012, in the waterfront building that had housed his chocolate factory. Since 2022 it has belonged to Kentucky's Heaven Hill. The aged bottlings, such as the 10 Year, are blended in Red Hook from straight bourbons sourced from around the country. Baby Jane is the farm-to-glass side, made from an heirloom corn bred from Bloody Butcher and Wapsie Valley and grown upstate. Expect rich, rounded bourbon for sipping neat.
