The oldest of these Albert Mann sweet treasures, a 1996 from the same prized Altenbourg slope below Grand Cru Furstentum. Selection des Grains Nobles is made by hand-selecting botrytis-shriveled berries one by one, concentrating sugar and flavor into something rare. The 'Tokay Pinot Gris' on the label reflects the old Alsace name for the grape, retired by EU rules years ago, a nice marker of the bottle's age. Nearly thirty years in, this is a fully resolved dessert wine from a biodynamic estate. Open it for a milestone, chill it down, and pour small.
