Mondeuse is Savoie's great red grape — dark-fruited, black-peppery, high in acid and low in weight — and this bottling is raised entirely in concrete egg, so there is no oak between you and it. The fruit comes from Chignin, hand-harvested off steep limestone-scree slopes around 370 meters, the same hillside that gives the estate's whites their nerve; on a red it reads as crunch and lift rather than richness. Anne-Sophie Quénard has run the family domaine since 2020, the first woman to lead a line farming here since 1644, and the vineyards were certified organic in 2024. This is the fresher of the two Mondeuse bottlings, built for drinking rather than cellaring. Put it in the fridge for twenty minutes before you open it.
