Bernard Faurie crafts Hermitage from just 1.7 hectares across three of the appellation's most prized lieux-dits. This cuvée blends fruit from Les Bessards and Le Méal, two steep hillside vineyards that define Hermitage's character.

Faurie represents the artisanal side of this legendary Northern Rhône appellation. His small production focuses entirely on expressing these ancient terroirs through traditional winemaking. The 2016 vintage showcases the power and elegance that make Hermitage one of France's most revered reds.

More about Bernard Faurie

Fourth-generation keeper of family vines in Hermitage since 1935, Bernard Faurie does everything by hand—including crushing grapes by foot. He uses 100% whole-bunch fermentation, eschews chemical weed killers (favoring horse plowing), and ages in oak ranging from new to 6-year-old 600-liter demi-muids. His Syrah is a masterclass in patience and restraint, producing reds and a white Hermitage Blanc from old-vine Marsanne.
