The father-and-son team at Domaine Bonnet-Cotton make some of the most electric natural Gamay in Beaujolais, and this Brouilly is their gentler, more open cru. Compared to their firmer Cote de Brouilly, the straight Brouilly comes off the flatter, sandier granite soils and gives a rounder, juicier, more immediately charming wine. Farmed organically and made with whole-cluster carbonic maceration and zero added sulfur, it is pure, unfussed Gamay that overdelivers on drinkability. Serve it with a slight chill and it disappears fast.
