Six generations of the Boiron family have made wine at Bosquet des Papes since 1860, overseeing 40 parcels of prime vineyard spread across the appellation. The 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is a traditional blend—75% Grenache Noir, 12% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and trace varieties—at 15% alcohol, designed to age 8–10 years in the cellar. The wine wears a pretty red-purple color with brilliant reflections hinting at youth and aging potential. On the nose, aromas of small red fruits develop; on the palate, a full, silky, velvety mouthfeel rewards classic Châteauneuf pairings with game meats and hearty sauces. This is not trendy Châteauneuf; this is what the appellation has always been—structured, honest, food-focused wine made with respect for tradition and understanding of terroir.

The Boiron family has owned this Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate since it was established in 1860, and they're now in their sixth generation of winemaking. Their 32 hectares produce Grenache-based Châteauneuf that's traditional, mature, and properly aged in old foudres and demi-muids. These are wines made with respect for method and time, not shortcuts. The family's commitment to tradition means the wines evolve beautifully in the bottle, rewarding patience with genuine complexity.
