The 2010 Cerbaiona is one of the most celebrated Brunellos of its generation, and it was made in the final years of Diego Molinari, the retired Alitalia pilot who founded the estate in 1977 and ran it until selling in 2015, making this a genuine piece of Montalcino history. The 4.5 hectares sit on a ridge just east of Montalcino at around 350 meters elevation, and the wines have always been prized for their perfume and energy rather than sheer power. The 2010 is pure Sangiovese, sumptuous and racy, with the depth and pedigree to age for years. Decant generously and let it unfold. A bottle to save for an occasion.
