Chante Cigale’s 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is everything you want in a great southern Rhône red—rich Grenache fruit, wild Provençal herbs, and just the right balance of spice and structure.

The blend leans heavily on old-vine Grenache, supported by Syrah, Mourvèdre, and a touch of other traditional varieties. The result is full-bodied and plush, with layers of ripe blackberry, black cherry, garrigue, cracked pepper, and a warm, earthy undercurrent. The tannins are smooth, the acidity is fresh, and the wine feels generous without being overblown.

This is Châteauneuf that’s delicious right out of the gate but has the stuffing to develop for a decade or more.
