This is the everyday wine from one of the Rhone's most legendary and secretive estates, Emmanuel Reynaud, the man behind Chateau Rayas. Made at Chateau des Tours in Sarrians, it carries the unmistakable Reynaud signature: ethereal, Grenache-driven, and far more delicate and perfumed than a Cotes du Rhone has any right to be. Farmed organically and vinified with minimal intervention, then aged in old oak and tank. The 2011 now has well over a decade of age, putting it in a lovely mature window where its silky, savory complexity shines.

Antonio Galloni

91 points

"Light, bright red. Complex aromas of fresh red berries, candied flowers and five-spice powder, joined by a subtle hint of garrigue. Juicy and precise, offering appealingly sweet raspberry and cherry flavors that tighten up slowly in the middle. Delivers a pretty serious punch of red fruit flavors but comes off lithe, finishing with very good energy and silky tannins that build slowly." —Josh Raynolds

Perfumed and silky: red cherry, garrigue herbs, earth, and spice. Medium-bodied with soft mature tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, savory finish. Drinking well.
