Clau de Nell is a biodynamic Anjou estate brought to fame by the late Anne-Claude Leflaive of Burgundy's iconic Domaine Leflaive, who fell for these old Loire vineyards and farmed them to the same exacting standard. Cuvee Violette is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from old vines (some over half a century) grown on silty clay over tuffeau limestone, fermented naturally. The 2012 is a serious, structured Loire red that has gained savory complexity with a decade of age. Decant and serve cool. A wine for people who love elegant, mineral Cabernet Franc.
