Chiaretto is Bardolino's pale rosé alter ego — same Corvina-Rondinella blend as the red, but pressed quickly off the skins for that signature whisper of color and brisk Lake Garda lift. Corte Gardoni has been farming this corner of the Veneto, just southeast of the lake, for four centuries; today the estate is run by sons Mattia (cellar), Stefano (vineyards), and Andrea (commercial), continuing the work of their late father Gianni Piccoli. Nichesole is their single-vineyard Chiaretto from glacial moraine soils — half direct-press, half saignée, a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, Barbera, and Sangiovese. The result is breezy, dry, and unmistakably alpine in feel: rose petal, wild strawberry, a saline twist on the finish.

More about Corte Gardoni

The Piccoli family has been farming near Lake Garda since 1971, and they've always been growers first, vintners second. Gianni Piccoli broke ties with the cooperatives in 1980 and started bottling his own wine. Now his three sons—Mattia in the cellar, Stefano in the vineyard, Andrea on commercialization—run it with the same quiet confidence that comes from knowing your land forever. These are honest Veneto wines from people who understand terroir at the core.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Made for prosciutto and melon, summer salads, grilled branzino, or fritto misto. Also lovely with risotto alla milanese, charcuterie, light pastas, soft cheeses, or just a sunny patio.

Tasting Profile

Pale salmon-pink, bone-dry, and light-bodied. Wild strawberry, ripe peach, watermelon rind, and crushed rose drift across a saline, mineral palate. Acidity is bright and clean, finish brisk and refreshing.
