Damien Laureau arrived in Savennières in 1999 from a grain-farming family near Versailles—an outsider who has become, as La Revue de Vin de France noted, "undoubtedly the future star of Savennières." L'Alliance blends younger vines from La Petite Roche and Pitrouillet on schist and sandstone soils. Certified organic since 2012, indigenous yeast fermented, minimal sulfur. Chenin Blanc from the Loire's most ageworthy appellation, at an accessible entry point. The 2020 is drinking beautifully now but will reward patience.
