Village Chambolle from a grower who lives and breathes the appellation, now with a decade of age. Digioia-Royer is a small five-hectare family estate based right in Chambolle-Musigny, run by Michel Digioia since 1999 with sustainable farming, full destemming, and traditional oak. Chambolle is Burgundy's address for perfumed, silky Pinot Noir, and the small, concentrated 2012 vintage gives this village wine depth to match its lift. Mature and drinking in its prime.

Robert Parker

90 points

"The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny Village comes from 8 parcels of vine scattered around the appellation, the vines averaging between 50 and 60 years in age. It has corpulent and very pure red berry fruit on the nose that is harmonious and rounded. The palate is rounded and very smooth in the mouth (and this sample was not taken from a new barrel that will ultimately constitute around 25% of the blend.) This should turn out to be quite a sumptuous village cru." —Neal Martin
