Founded in 1953 by Roger Martin, who planted 14 hectares of Savagnin on blue marl soils with the conviction to produce only Vin Jaune. Now in its third generation under Vincent Martin, the domaine has grown to 34 hectares at 400 meters elevation in Arbois/Pupillin. Certified organic since 1999 and Demeter biodynamic since 2009. Melon a Queue Rouge is an old native Jura grape variety from the Chardonnay family—a red-stemmed Chardonnay mutation. The estate has 1 hectare planted to this rare variety. Soils include blue Liassic marls, red Triassic marls, and chalk-clay.
