This is a monopole, the entire walled vineyard belongs to Pousse d'Or alone, sitting inside Volnay's premier cru En Caillerets. The Clos des 60 Ouvrees has long been a flagship of this historic Volnay estate, run since 1997 by Patrick Landanger following the legendary Gerard Potel era. The 2005 vintage is one of the great structured Burgundy years, wines built to age, and at two decades on this should be entering a lovely mature window while keeping the firm Volnay backbone. Pinot Noir, premier cru. Decant a bottle this old and don't rush it.
