Forty-two years of development before bottling—among the longest pre-bottling elevages in wine history. From Jean-Michel Parcé's extraordinary library at Domaine du Mas Blanc, this 1975 was hand-harvested, foot-trodden, fermented in cement with native yeasts, then selected for indefinite aging. A decade in demi-muids, then 32 years in a single barrique. Bottled August 2017, this is Banyuls at its most transcendent: deep mahogany color, dried fruit complexity, caramelized nut aromatics that only decades of patient oxidation can achieve. The Parcé family has championed this appellation since 1921. This is the proof.
