Stéphane Robert’s Domaine du Tunnel has become one of the most admired names in Cornas, known for crafting Syrah that’s both precise and soulful. Working mostly with old vines on steep granite slopes, Robert avoids new oak and heavy extraction, favoring whole-cluster ferments and gentle élevage to preserve freshness and terroir.

The 2022 vintage is a beautiful example of this balance. It leads with violet, black cherry, olive, and smoked meat—all classic Cornas markers—but what sets it apart is the clarity of the fruit and the fine-grained structure beneath it. It’s compact and coiled for now, but there’s lift, energy, and a long mineral finish that promises years of graceful evolution.

From this quirky home, he pulls Cornas Syrah of real architecture—mineral, structured, demanding food and patience.
