"The 2023 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru comes from a 0.2852-hectare parcel planted in 1991. It has a lovely reduction on the nose, real intensity, hints of yellow fruit, crushed limestone and light floral scents. The palate is very harmonious, silky smooth counterbalanced by a fine bead of acidity. Lemon curd, almond, and a touch of praline develop toward the finish. "From a 0.28-hectare site planted in 1991, facing southeast and on the side that sees the morning sun, Eleni & Edouard Vocoret’s 2023 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur has turned out very well. Wafting from the glass with a deep bouquet of iodine, Meyer lemon, pealed almonds and oyster shell, framed by a touch of youthful reduction, it’s full-bodied, concentrated and layered, cool and tangy, concluding with a long, mineral finish. It’s already a serious wine, but the best lies ahead, as the young Vocorets reclaimed the parcel only a year before producing this bottling." —Kristaps Karklins
