Classic, traditional Chateauneuf with bottle age on it. Domaine La Milliere sits on the northern hillsides of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, a fifth-generation estate run for years by Michel Arnaud before its 2019 sale. This is a Grenache-led southern Rhone blend from the appellation's mosaic of soils. The 2007 was a celebrated, ripe Chateauneuf vintage, and at this point the wine is mature and ready, the fruit having softened into something rounder and more savory. A great choice if you want old-school Chateauneuf without waiting. Decant before serving.

"The beautiful 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (from 80- to 100-year-old vines) is a blend of 60% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, and Counoise aged in concrete tanks and old wood foudres. An effusively fruity, exuberant effort, it reveals plenty of juicy black currants and black cherries intermixed with lavender, licorice, incense, and forest floor.
