Bandol makes some of the most serious rose in France, built on Mourvedre, and Domaine La Suffrene is one of its standout estates. Cedric Gravier took over the family vines in 1996 and now farms organically across nearly sixty hectares of this small Provencal appellation overlooking the Mediterranean. Unlike the pale, simple roses that flood the market, Bandol rose has real structure and savory depth from the Mourvedre, with Grenache and Cinsault filling out the blend. This is a current-vintage rose with the backbone to stand up to a full dinner, not just an aperitif. Drink it young and fresh.
