Robert Parker

90 points

"The 2014 Pommard 1er Cru Les Charponnières, a 0.6-hectare holding, has more red fruit on the nose compared to the Pommard Les Perrières, wild strawberry and raspberry preserve, quite expressive with subtle sous-bois scents. The palate is medium-bodied with brisk red berry fruit on the entry. Saline in the mouth, masculine perhaps but with ample red fruit on the citric finish, this is a well-crafted Pommard that should give much pleasure over the next decade." —Neal Martin

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Roasted chicken with herbs; Braised beef cheeks; Grilled pork loin; Mushroom risotto

Tasting Profile

Wild strawberry, pound cake, and wet leather with chalky tannins. Medium-bodied, fine-grained, with excellent balance between fruit and earth. The chalky tannins characteristic of Pommard provide structure without weight—the wine showing refinement and finesse rather than power.
