High-altitude Puligny from one of the Côte de Beaune's most respected white-wine families. Le Trézin is a village-level lieu-dit on the upper slopes of Puligny-Montrachet — cold, windy, and the highest vineyard in the appellation. Marc Colin's plot is planted to old vines that have learned to thrive in that thin air, producing a tense, mineral-driven style of Chardonnay quite different from the rounder wines of the village's mid-slope crus. The domaine is based in Saint-Aubin and run today by siblings Damien and Caroline Colin, who continue the precise, restrained style for which the family name is known. 2019 was a small, concentrated vintage in the Côte de Beaune — wines with depth and grip — and Le Trézin's cool-site lift keeps it singing.

"Once again there is a whiff of petrol though here it's more discreet on the aromas of pretty citrus confit and fragrant acacia blossom. I very much like the more refined texture of the solidly concentrated yet finer medium weight flavors that possess evident minerality on the detailed, focused and lingering finale. This too is an excellent villages that's worthy of your consideration."

"The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Le Trézin comes from a single parcel of around 60-year-old vines. It has a taut and linear bouquet with fresh sea spray notes combining nicely with the green apple aromas. The palate is crisp and fresh with a touch of creaminess on the entry, fine depth for a village cru with lemon curd and orange pith towards the finish. Lovely harmony in this Village Cru and impressive length." —Neal Martin

"The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Le Trézin opens in the glass with notes of citrus oil, crushed mint and almond paste. Medium to full-bodied, bright and racy, with a tightly wound core of fruit and a mineral finish, this should turn out very well." —William Kelley

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Sole meunière, scallops in beurre blanc, oysters Rockefeller, roasted chicken with herbs, or creamy goat cheeses. Also lovely with risotto Milanese or pan-seared white fish.

Tasting Profile

Crisp green apple, lemon pith, and white flowers lift from a tense, mineral-driven palate. Concentrated and saline from the 2019 vintage, with a long, chalky finish carrying gentle hazelnut and a flicker of orchard fruit.
