"The 2023 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a fresh, stony bouquet that blossoms in the glass with orchard fruit and petrichor scents. The palate is very well balanced with a slightly petrolly reduction on the entry. There's good weight behind that and a potent, spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. "The most generously structured premier cru in the Moreau-Naudet portfolio this year, 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains derives from four climats in this premier cru, including Butteaux. Its delicately sun-kissed fruit and expressiveness encouraged Virginie Moreau to vinify it entirely in stainless steel. Jumping from the glass with aromas of pear, pastries and tangerine zest, it’s full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, having attained 13.5% alcohol.
