Grand Cru Burgundy from an old Gevrey estate, in a celebrated vintage now ready to drink. Drouhin-Laroze, founded in 1850 and run by the sixth generation, holds an enviable trove of grand crus, including a substantial 1.5-hectare slice of Bonnes-Mares. This is that wine, Pinot Noir from one of the great Grand Crus straddling the Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis border, a site known for marrying perfume and power. The 2005 vintage is one of Burgundy's modern legends, structured, concentrated, and built for the long haul. After two decades it's entering a beautiful mature window. Decant, or hold further.
