Smart, characterful Bourgogne from a respected Ladoix family. Edmond Cornu & Fils has farmed around the Corton hill since the 1870s, with Pierre Cornu now at the helm, and their wines punch above their appellation. This Bourgogne Rouge comes from the named Les Barrigards parcel, so it's a step beyond generic regional red. From the strong, structured 2010 vintage, now 15-plus years old, it should be drinking in a lovely mature window, an everyday Burgundy with grower detail. Pinot Noir. Decant briefly and enjoy.
