Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 91
"Light gold. Spicy blood orange and strawberry on the nose, with subtle floral pastille and musky herbal character. Bitter cherry and orange pith flavors are impressively concentrated and focused. Aeration brings up a sweeter raspberry quality that carries through a long, incisive, smoke-tinged finish. This powerful Champagne could handle the richest cheeses and charcuterie with ease." -Josh Raynolds

Robert Parker

"Disgorged in April 2020 with four grams per liter dosage, the latest release of Rodez' NV Brut Blanc de Noirs is already quite expressive, offering up aromas of mirabelle plum, raspberries, toasted almonds, honeycomb and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and gourmand, with ripe but racy acids and an enveloping core of fruit that's complemented by a pillowy mousse, it's extroverted but precise. What's more, it will be even better with a year or two on cork." -William Kelley

"Tasted immediately after the all-Pinot Noir Roses de Jeanne 2017 and it's more obviously oaky and savoury on the nose. Rather like the stereotypical Bollinger with lots to chew on – meaty, stereotypically 'masculine'. Very complete and not remotely austere. Dense but also manages to be vibrant and refreshing. Cries out for something to nibble on at the same time, as recommended by the late Edmund Penning-Rowsell."

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
