The Nada family have farmed Cascina Rombone since 1921, and the winery is literally built on the vineyard. Rombone remains the beating heart of the estate and the most powerful wine they make. Treiso sits high and cool in Barbaresco, and this site concentrates everything the commune is known for: intense spice, deep minerality, and a richness that is genuinely unusual in a zone better known for perfume. Deep garnet, harmonious young, and built for the very long haul. 2016 was a landmark year in Piedmont and it gave Rombone both the fruit and the structure to go the distance. Decant it, or leave it alone for another decade. Either way, do not rush it.
