Antonio Galloni

"The 2016 Barolo Cannubi shows all of the raciness of this site to great effect. Crushed flowers, mint, spice and red berry fruit fill out the layers as this pliant, silky Barolo shows off its considerable allure. Soft edges (for a young Barolo) give the Cannubi notable immediacy and tons of sheer appeal. The Cannubi is a wine of pure pleasure." —Antonio Galloni

Robert Parker

"The Francesco Rinaldi & Figli 2016 Barolo Cannubi offers a complete and definitive portrait of this storied vineyard site at the heart of the Barolo comune, or village. One of the big takeaways here is the mouthfeel. This wine shows an enormously silky and pure approach that hits the palate with clarity and purity. Subtle hints of wild rose, raspberry, crushed stone, licorice and dried mint appear along the way. This is a supremely elegant and finely textured wine." —Monica Larner

Jancis Robinson

"Barolo. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with bricky rim. Shy earthy cherry nose with hints of savoury spice. Supple acidity and finely chiselled tannins, but the fruit closes up fast. Its Cannubi pedigree is evident, though." —Walter Speller

More about Francesco Rinaldi

One of the last of the old-school Barolo traditionalists. Founded in 1870 in Barolo proper, run now by nieces Paola and Piera Rinaldi (and Piera's daughters). No new oak, long maceration, aged in huge Slavonian oak botti—exactly how they did it a hundred years ago. Brunate and Cannubi are the stars.
