MunJebel CR is Cornelissen's Nerello Mascalese from the contrada Campo Re, one of the single-vineyard expressions he draws off Mount Etna's northern slopes. The whole MunJebel project is about reading the volcano parcel by parcel, each contrada coded by two letters on the label. Frank, a Belgian former wine importer who chased Burgundy to Sicily, works without additions and keeps an obsessively clean cellar, so the wine feels electric rather than feral. Campo Re leans toward perfume and elegance. The 2021 is youthful and will only get better with a few years down.

This is round and graceful in the mouth, with a lifted mix of ripe blackberry and citrus tones that swirl beneath an air of lavender pastille.
