Frantz Chagnoleau, Pouilly-Fuisse "Madrigal", 2024
Frantz Chagnoleau, Pouilly-Fuisse "Madrigal", 2024 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Pouilly-Fuissé represents the Mâconnais at its most ambitious—and Chagnoleau's 2024 Madrigal is built for age, not immediate gratification. At 350 meters altitude, old vines thrive in marl-limestone with iron oxides, horse-plowed to preserve soil life. Selected barrels showing austerity and reduction were aged 16-18 months in Burgundy casks with restrained new wood. This is a wine that tastes tight now, asking you to cellar it.
