Egri Csillag is the white answer to the more famous red Egri Bikavér (Bull's Blood) — by regulation a blend of at least four varieties with native grapes forming the majority. Gál Tibor's 2025 weaves Hárslevelű (30%) and Olaszrizling (20%) with Viognier (20%), Szürkebarát, Pinot Blanc, and Tramini, fermented and aged in stainless steel for maximum lift and clarity. The winery was founded in 1993 by the late Tibor Gál Sr. — the Hungarian winemaker who served as chief winemaker at Tuscany's Ornellaia from 1989 to 1998 before returning home to Eger. His son, Tibor Gál Jr., now runs the estate with the same quiet ambition. Fresh, gulpable, dinner-friendly.
