The Chiquet family has been growing grapes in the Pinot Noir-centric Vallée de la Marne since the mid-1700s, and they were among the first to make and bottle Champagne under their own name, in the aftermath of World War I. The very way we think of Champange today would not exist, were it not for the many generations of Chiquets devoted to their vines.

Each Chiquet Champagne, even the entry-level nonvintage wines, comes from Premier or Grand Cru sites within Champagne. Chiquet is perhaps best known for producing a singular, outstanding blanc de blancs Champagne from the Grand Cru Pinot Noir village of Aÿ; it manages to express both the mineral charm of Chardonnay-based Champagne and the unique terroir of the village.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 90
"The NV Brut Tradition is bright and beautifully focused, with striking balance of fruit, aromatics and acid. The current release is 40% Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir, based on the 2014 vintage, with 20% reserve wines from 2013. There is a breezy, effortless quality to the Tradition that is impossible to miss. Floral accents, dried pear and chamomile linger. Disgorged: May, 2019." -Vinous

Robert Parker

RP 90
"Disgorged in November 2019, the latest release of Chiquet's supremely dependable NV Brut Premier Cru Tradition reveals an inviting bouquet of crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh peach, honeycomb, citrus oil and warm biscuits. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with a classy mousse, a succulent core of fruit and ripe but racy balancing acids. It's already drinking well." -Robert Parker

Wine Spectator

WS 90
"A bright, snappy Champagne, mineral-driven and crisp in texture, displaying a range of tangy apple and kumquat fruit with hints of smoked almond, biscuit and lemon thyme. Disgorged November 2019."
