Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin from Geantet-Pansiot, now with over two decades of bottle age, this is a rare back-vintage glimpse at one of Gevrey's great terroirs in full maturity. The Geantets farm their Charmes parcel without chemicals and make it in their signature generous, powerful style, the kind of wine built to reward patience. The 2002 was a superb, balanced Burgundy vintage, and at this age the wine has unfolded into savory, complex territory. This is mature Grand Cru drinking at or near its peak. Open it for an occasion and serve from a decanter.
