Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin from Geantet-Pansiot, the youngest of three vintages of this wine on offer. The Geantets farm their Charmes parcel without herbicides or chemical fertilizers and vinify it in their hallmark generous, powerful style, true to the nobility of Gevrey. The small, concentrated 2012 vintage produced reds of fine balance and depth, and this Grand Cru has the structure to reward more cellaring. Approachable with a decant now, but it will reward patience. A benchmark Gevrey Grand Cru in its early-mature stride.
