Corton-Charlemagne is the grand cru that makes you wait. This one is built from fruit grown high on the Corton hill above Ladoix-Serrigny, fermented and raised in barrel the traditional way, with the cellar chasing structure and longevity rather than early charm. The Lafon philosophy holds: no oak signature, no lees flavor, nothing between you and the vineyard. Tension and mineral power are what this appellation is famous for, and this is built to deliver both, on its own schedule. Open a bottle young if you want to see where it is headed, but know that it will be a different and better wine in a decade. The 2024 is Guillaume Lafon's first vintage under his own name.
