I Custodi, guided by the legendary Salvo Foti, is devoted to preserving the ancient vineyards and traditions of Mount Etna—a place where vines cling to steep, rocky terraces at high altitudes. Aetneus is their flagship Etna Rosso, sourced from century-old Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio vines grown without irrigation or chemical intervention.
The 2019 vintage is a stunning reflection of Etna’s raw power and finesse: aromas of red cherry, blood orange, wild herbs, and volcanic ash leap from the glass. The palate is taut and linear, framed by firm, savory tannins and a cool, mineral finish that speaks directly of the lava-rich soils.
