This is the heart of Jean-Philippe Fichet's world. He's one of Meursault's master winemakers, and his village Meursault is where his whole philosophy comes into focus: the terroir here brings richness, so his job is to guard freshness, acidity and length. He farms by hand, ages the wine patiently for 18 months in mostly used wood and then tank, and stirs the lees very little, chasing a focused, racy, electric style without artifice. The 2024 is fresh and precise. This is classic Meursault drinking, generous yet linear, the wine that made Fichet's name and a benchmark for the village.

More about Jean-Philippe Fichet

A tireless devotee of Meursault's terroir, Fichet works his vines from dawn to dusk with severe pruning and relentless focus. His Aligoté shatters the grape's reputation for anonymity—crystalline, focused, with the stoniness of serious Burgundy. This is proof that Aligoté, in the right hands, becomes a wine worth seeking out.
