White Hermitage from a micro-négoce producer who spent a decade learning the Northern Rhône before bottling under his own name. Julien Pilon apprenticed at Mas Amiel in Roussillon, Terra Remonta in Spain, and with Côte-Rôtie luminaries Pierre-Jean Villa, Patrice Porte, and Pierre Gaillard before returning to his native Chavanay in 2010 to begin crafting wines from the region's most prestigious appellations. In 2020, he purchased his own cellar, solidifying his five-hectare estate. The Prisme is one hundred percent Marsanne from the legendary Hermitage hill—just 130 hectares of south-facing slopes above the Rhône where granite and clay produce some of France's most age-worthy whites. Fermented and aged in oak to build texture while preserving freshness. Now over a decade old, the 2014 is entering its secondary phase: honeyed, nutty, and rich with dried fruit and floral complexity. White Hermitage at this age is a rare and magnificent experience.
