What is this wine?
Keenan’s Cabernet Franc 2021 is a small-production red from the winery’s Spring Mountain Estate on Napa Valley’s western slopes. Founded in the 1970s, Robert Keenan Winery is renowned for mountain-grown wines that combine richness with structure and freshness. The 2021 Cabernet Franc is sourced primarily from estate vineyards at elevations of 1,700–2,000 feet, where cooler temperatures and rocky soils yield intensely aromatic, finely balanced fruit. Aged in French oak (roughly one-third new), this is a polished yet varietally pure expression of Cabernet Franc.
Why get this wine?
Keenan consistently ranks among Napa’s best values in mountain reds, and their Cabernet Franc is a standout for its elegance and restraint. The 2021 vintage was outstanding—low yields produced concentrated, beautifully structured wines with natural energy. This bottle offers the perfume and savory complexity of Cabernet Franc with the power and longevity of Napa fruit.
