"The 2020 Merlot comes from two sites on the estate and has quite a potent menthol-scented bouquet that is attractive, if just a little strong for me. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, a mixture of menthol and licorice and a sweet, slightly confit finish. Decent enough but outclassed by the Cabernet Sauvignon." -Neal Martin

Merlot is from High Road (330 MASL) and Homestead vineyards (260 MASL)
Heavier clay, rocky soils, and lighter, loamy soils
Hand harvested in small batches
Each parcel is fermented separately with indigenous yeast in open top fermenters
Aged 19 months in seasoned French oak barriques
Bottling is carried out by hand with no filtration
