Le Chiuse makes Brunello that's hard to put down. This organically farmed Sangiovese from the cradle of Brunello culture shows the style's transparency and tension. Cassis, Rainier cherry, and raspberry are framed by rose, new leather, and Mediterranean herb. White pepper, anise, citrus, and wild fruit layer in on the palate. Taut but refined tannins and bright acidity keep it balanced and energetic. Drinking beautifully now, built to age into the 2030s.

This is round and juicy on the palate, with silken textures, ripe red berry fruits and licorice tones that swirl across a stream of fresh acidity. The 2020 leaves a tinge of sour citrus that makes the mouth water for more even as fine tannins drench the senses in youthful concentration. "Among the top wines of the vintage, Le Chiuse was picked on 17 September just before a period of unsettled, rainy weather. It evokes its northern origins within Montalcino unequivocally. Discreet yet precise, the nose suggests balsamic herbs, fennel and rose mixed with autumn leaves. Gracefully midweight, it builds with flavours of rosehip tea and sweet earth wrapped in a chalky texture, with cranberry-esque acidity lending tension. That slight austere edge isn’t characteristic of the vintage, but alludes to the estate’s Riserva, which by the way, they didn't produce in 2020."
