A family domaine in Savigny-les-Beaune now run by sisters Juliette and Caroline Chenu, working a string of well-placed Premier Cru parcels on the village's two hillsides. Savigny is one of the Cote de Beaune's great value addresses for red Burgundy, and the Chenu Premier Cru shows why: it's earthy, energetic Pinot Noir with real cut. The 2015 vintage was warm and ripe, giving Savigny unusual depth and a generous core of fruit while keeping the appellation's characteristic spice and grip. At a decade old it's settling into a lovely mature stretch, with the primary fruit giving way to forest-floor and savory notes. Drink now through the next several years.
