Good things come to those who wait, and Mee Godard makes Morgon built for exactly that. She founded her Beaujolais domaine in 2013 around three benchmark sites, and Corcelette is the most aromatic and refined of them: pink granite and rare, friable saprolyte soils at the northwestern edge of Morgon that give Gamay real lift and finesse. Godard describes her wines as vin de garde, made to age, and this one is now showing the dividends. A 2014 with around a decade in bottle, it has gained savory complexity while keeping its energy; drink now over the next couple of years.
