Old-school Alto Piemonte from a producer that has since disappeared, making these mature bottles a genuine collector's curiosity. Tenuta Monolo farmed the iron-rich volcanic soils of Bramaterra organically, blending Nebbiolo with the local grapes Croatina, Vespolina, and Uva Rara into wines of savory, mineral intensity. Bramaterra is one of northern Piedmont's lesser-known DOCs, prized by Nebbiolo lovers for offering structure and complexity in a more rugged, wild register than Barolo. This 2001 Riserva is a mature back-vintage from a private cellar, fully into its drinking window. A rare chance to explore a corner of Piedmont few ever get to taste.
