Pierre Morey is a white-Burgundy legend, the biodynamic pioneer who ran the cellar at Domaine Leflaive for decades, so a red under his Morey-Blanc negoce label is a genuine curveball. He built this label in 1992 out of necessity, when his family lost its rented Meursault vines, and turned it into something serious. Clos du Chapitre sits in the heart of Aloxe-Corton, the sturdier, darker-fruited side of the Cote de Beaune. Fully de-stemmed, fermented with native yeast, gentle extraction, bottled unfined and unfiltered by gravity. A structured, ageworthy red from a master of whites.
