Antonio Galloni

92 points

"The 2015 Barolo Vigna Rionda is soft, fruity and accessible. While certainly a pleasing wine, the Vigna Rionda is not especially complex nor pedigreed, especially within the context of what should be possible at Rionda, one of the greatest vineyard sites in all of Piedmont." —Antonio Galloni

Robert Parker

95 points

"With fruit from Serralunga d'Alba, the Figli Luigi Oddero 2015 Barolo Vignarionda is saturated and rich, showing dark fruit, black cherry, plum, campfire ash, iron and rusty nail. Vignarionda awards flavors and tastes with a strong sense of place, and territory-driven characteristics are especially evident in this vintage. To the palate, the wine is smooth and rich with integrated tannins." —Monica Larner

Kerin O'Keefe

94 points

"Aromas recalling French oak, underbrush, violet and camphor take shape in the glass. Combing structure and finesse, the firm, full-bodied palate delivers Marasca cherry, blood orange, licorice and oak-driven spice framed in tightly knit, fine-grained tannins. It's still youthfully austere so give it time." —Kerin O'Keefe

More about Oddero

Super fresh, glowing Barolo from a 200-year legacy. Poderi Oddero dates to the 1700s and released its first bottled Barolo in 1878. Now run by sixth and seventh generations (Mariavittoria and Mariacristina and their children), they're certified organic and own some of Barolo's best crus: Bussia, Brunate, Vignarionda. The wines pop with bright red fruit and mineral finesse—drinkability with authority.
