Thomas Pico of Pattes Loup is one of the most revered modern voices in Chablis, known for his meticulous organic farming and extended aging approach that brings added depth and nuance to his wines. His 2020 Chablis Beauregard 1er Cru Mise Tardive is a late-release bottling that sees extended time on lees, allowing for greater texture, richness, and integration while still maintaining Chablis’ signature tension. Beauregard, a lesser-known but beautifully expressive Premier Cru, sits on Kimmeridgian limestone soils that enhance the wine’s mineral backbone.

Lemon oil, ripe pear, and green apple lead into layers of chalk, wet stone, and a touch of hazelnut from extended aging. The palate is powerful yet finely chiseled, with a creamy mid-palate balanced by piercing acidity and a long, saline finish. Compared to Pico’s earlier-release Chablis, Mise Tardive shows greater depth, weight, and aging potential, making it a standout for those who appreciate structured, long-lived white Burgundy.

Ideal with oysters, butter-poached lobster, or rich poultry dishes, this 2020 Beauregard 1er Cru Mise Tardive is compelling now but will evolve beautifully over the next 8–12 years. A Chablis of both concentration and precision, showcasing the brilliance of Thomas Pico’s craftsmanship.

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
