Made by Ian Brand (SF Chronicle's 2018 Winemaker of the Year), who founded Le P'tit Paysan in 2008 after working at Bonny Doon. "Paysan" means "peasant" in French. Zabala Vineyard sits on land granted to the Zabala family before California statehood, first planted in the 1970s. Among the rockiest vineyards in California—dominated by granite cobblestones on the Arroyo Seco floodplain. Daily winds from Monterey Bay. 100% Sauvignon Blanc Musque clone.

Le P'tit Paysan is Ian Brand's project in Monterey and San Benito, started in 2008 after his time as assistant winemaker at Bonny Doon. Brand was named a Wine & Spirits 40 Under 40 Tastemaker in 2013. He's committed to organic farming and positioning Monterey as the next region to watch in California. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rhône-style blends: these are wines that think regionally and age beautifully.
